Whether it's making the decision to become a foster parent, getting advice on how to help your foster child or wanting to find out more about your rights as a foster parent, the people and resources listed below can give you the answers or point you in the right direction.

Foster Care Support Worker:

Each foster family is assigned a foster care support worker to help them through the application process and provide them with the support and assistance they need when caring for foster children.

Alberta Foster Parent Association:

The Alberta Foster Parent Association is a not-for-profit association that supports foster and adoptive families and acts as a liaison between foster families and the provincial government. Foster Parent Support Line:

Want information about support available to foster parents? Need advice on how to help your foster child? Call 1-800-667-2372 (toll-free in Alberta ) or 906-3890 (within Edmonton ). The 24/7 support line is operated by the Alberta Foster Parent Association.
